Canadian Wrestling Elite (CWE) is returning to Yorkton with another event – the New Heights Tour.

The event will take place at Yorkdale School on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Danny Warren, the owner of CWE, said they have a record number of fighters for this event.

The tour features fighters from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, North Dakota, Virginia, West Virginia, Illinois, Missouri, Maryland, Texas and Japan.

“[Fans] can expect our biggest tour yet in terms of size, events and talent,” said Warren.

He explained they typically run a small crew on these tours because it makes the most sense economically, but this time they’ve stepped out of that comfort zone and are bringing a bigger crew. This will be evident to fans with more fights and more wrestlers being featured.

Warren said he and the other fighters on the tour are looking forward to their stop in Yorkton.

“We have a good relationship with [Yorkdale School]. We’ll be in Yorkton early in the afternoon and we’ll be at the school playing basketball with the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams,” he said.

“We’re looking to get some revenge,” joked Warren, as he recalled the last time the wrestlers and basketball teams faced off, which did not end in favour of the fighters.

Tickets to the New Heights Tour can be purchased online at cwetickets.com, or at the door of the event on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Yorkdale School.
