On March 4-5, the Yorkton Blitz Volleyball Club hosted a 16U Saskatchewan Volleyball Association sanctioned volleyball tournament.

There were 32 teams from across the province attended the weekend and the event saw a high level of competition from all around.

The tournament was housed at St. Mikes School, MC Knoll School, The Gallagher Centre and Sacred Heart High School.

“The event was a great success. It was awesome to be able to have the opportunity to host an event like this in Yorkton, as these events are usually hosted in larger centres like Saskatoon and Regina. It helps promote our community and gives our local club an opportunity to showcase our players and teams locally,” said Blitz executive.

Yorkton Blitz 16U team took home a silver medal in tier 2, and Yorkton Blitz 15U team placed 23rd. Congratulations to the Yorkton Blitz 16U & 15U teams.

Yorkton Blitz Volleyball Club is currently preparing to host the 14U SVA tournament on March 24-25 in Yorkton.
