The Yorkton Peewee A Terriers, a team made up of players from the three peewee Tier 2 teams, won the Saskatchewan Pee-wee A championship in a two game total point series. The Yorkton peewee team won the first game 5-4 against the Battleford Barons in North Battleford. Returning to Yorkton, the peewees won game two of the series 5-3 at the Kinsmen Arena Sunday afternoon to claim the provincial title.

The youngsters played well says head coach Kelly Maddin. "First game we were a little slow coming off the bus, but here at home we showed our true colors and the kids played very well," he says.

All three tier two teams have had a good playoff run in league play, Maddin says. The provincial championship team of players from those teams defeated Weyburn in the first round of provincial playoffs. They downed Swift Current in the second round and ultimately triumphed over Battleford to claim the provincial Peewee A championship banner at home in the Kinsmen Arena, Maddin explains.
