Aren Buchholzer

His roots are in Yorkton but these days he's finding success on the west coast.

Twenty year old Aren Buchholz - born in Yorkton and grandson of Yorkton's Elaine and Norm Lutcher - set off from his home town of Dundurn, Saskatchewan to pursue his dream of becoming a film and television actor and his future is looking bright.

Buchholz says he knew from a very young age he had the acting bug. Even in the second grade he could be seen on the stage performing at every school talent show, entertaining and making people laugh. He went on to attend high school in Hanley, Saskatchewan where he pursued theatre. It was then when he landed his first role in the Canadian APTN series - Rabbit Fall. It was also then when he began to realize his full potential.

Buchholz has since moved to Vancouver and now guest stars in the Cartoon Network's live action series - Level Up. Premiering in 2012, the show follows four high school gamers in their quest to fight mythical beasts that have escaped from the game into reality. Buchholz plays the role of "Leroy" who appears charming but turns out to be the type of guy that no one wants to befriend. While his character may be a tad shady, off screen the talented young actor maintains his small town charm, polite demeanor and happy-go-lucky attitude.

It's no doubt it's these traits that also landed him the role of "Anthony" in Hallmark's love story, Trading Christmas which is set to air November 26 He also snapped up the part of "Richard" on Hasbro tv's mini series, Clue, inspired by the popular boardgame. Buchholzer can also be seen in the CW's hit horror series, Supernatural and YTV's, Mr. Young.

His accomplishments are making others take note. Aren was recently one of only five to be selected by his Vancouver agent to walk the red carpet at the Vancouver Arts Festival. He was also flown to LA to screen test at NBC studios. "It was an unbelievable experience he says, "and I'm excited to have another one like it down the road," he says.

It appears the sky is the limit for prairie born Buchholzer.
