HUMBOLDT — The City of Humboldt is using its new online business directory to let people know which businesses are open, doing business by other means, or closed during the pandemic.

Yet it needs businesses to send them this information so it can input it into the directory.

“If you are a business owner, and If you haven’t already done so, please go to humboldt.ca/business-directory-update and complete the short online form that will provide us with your current status and how you are currently doing business,” said a release from the city.

“Our intent is to have one consistent and reliable business listing, so it’s very important that we hear from you.”

As for the public at large, they can view the business directory at humboldt.ca/business-directory. On that site, there are two categories right at the top: “Doing Business by Other Means (Closed to the Public)” and “Open to the Public With Physical Distancing/Restrictions.”

Clicking either of those categories will bring up a list of businesses. Clicking on a business name will provide more details on how they are adapting to the pandemic.

“The business directory is updated only after we have received confirmed information from each business, so please refer to it frequently,” said the city.

The city is also asking for those businesses that are temporarily closed to confirm that so that they can do another update when those businesses reopen.
