Community picnic planned

The Bredenbury Golf Course is now open with six brand new artificial greens that have turned out to be fantastic. The golf club will use the garden shed for a temporary club house. Hopefully construction will start on a new one in a new location.

Membership fees are due immediately and have been set for the coming year.

You may purchase these books or pay fees at Bredenbury Hotel with cash or cheque. Town Office-cash or cheque. Cheques made payable to Bredenbury Golf Course.

Ladies Golf – Tuesday 9:00 a.m. and Wednesday 6:30 p.m. Everyone Welcome.

Bredenbury Ladies Golf Club will be having a “Ladies Night Out” in the Bredenbury Hall on Sat., Sept. 26, 2015. Doors open at 5:30, Supper 6:30. Music, games, door prizes, raffle ticket items. It will be the theme of “Golf”. Dress up in your golf outfit for a chance to win a prize. Tickets $30 each. Purchase a table of 6 or an individual ticket. Advanced tickets available June 1, 2015. Limited spots. Call 306-898-2055 for tickets or talk to a lady golfer. Must be 19 or older. Proceeds towards getting the golf course back in shape.

Last Saturday and Sunday many grandparents and friends attended the Bravo! 20th Anniversary, Dance Innovations held at the Anne Portnuff Theatre. A great show was put on by these young dancers. Congratulations.

There will be no services held in Bredenbury for the months July and August.

The Bredenbury Lions will be hosting their annual Community Picnic. This event is free but donations are accepted. It will be held at the Lions Park on 200 Block of Third Street, June 16, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs, watermelon, potato salad, beans, ice cream and drinks. Come out, meet your neighbours and friends. Everyone Welcome.

Pictures for metal street signs are hanging on poles on Third Street. The Centennial logos, CPR station and Elevator. The Town has plans to put up a few more signs but are looking for photographs of historical buildings from Bredenbury’s past, such as CPR roundhouse, old Legion Hall, CPR pumping station in Cutarm Creek, racetrack, railway water tower, etc. The pictures should be clear and close up with very little background. If you have pictures that might but suitable, please contact Kim at the Town office.

Dave & Gloria Herron were in Regina this past weekend watching their grandson Tyson play hockey. Rose Mus travelled with her daughter Chas to watch  her grandson Nicholas play hockey in Regina also.

Farewell and best wishes to John and Joan Sjuberg who have sold their home in Bredenbury and purchased a Trailer Home in Salmon Arm, B.C. where their daughter and family live.

Peter Janett is visiting his daughter Lori Kindryck and family of Saskatoon. While there he attended Lori’s retirement from her teaching career. Congratulations.
