The Calder Good Neighbour Centre has been busy with their Whist Drive. Here are the winners from their Invitational Whist Drive:  Adel Weiss, Lucille Hayall, Marlene Balabuk and G.A. Geverin and low Gordon Kahut.

The Pot of Gold winners were M. McKay and Mary Cockerell. The Silent Auction winners were: Debbie Pryslak, Mary Schaub, Gwen Betke, Gradys Tkachuk, Bertha Putland and Virginia Wandy. The Door Prize winner was M. McKay.

The winners of the last whist drive at the Good Neighbour Centre were the following: Marlene Balabuk, Marjory Mankish, Virginia Wandy, low Jim Fustey. The Pot of Gold winners were Donna Fustey and Mildred Danylko.

The Calder Playschool held their Annual Bottle Drive on Nov. 19, 2016. Thank you everyone who donated bottles. Huge thank you to all the vendors that came out to the Calder trade show on Nov. 6, 2016. Huge thank you to the playschool parents that came out and helped all day long. Huge thank you to all the wonderful people who came out to the Calder trade show. We hope to see you all again in November next year.

The Calder Good Neighbour Centre held their invitational Christmas Party on Dec. 4, 2016. Here are the winners from their whist drive: Mildred Danylko, Walter Balabuk, Donna Fustey, low Jim Fustey. Door prize winner was Mary Sobkow. And the Pot of Gold winners were Glen Yaroski and Walter Balabuk.

The Calder School Christmas Concert will be held on Dec. 19, 2016 at the Calder Community Hall. Concert starts at 7 p.m., there will be raffles, coffee and dainties after the program. So come out and enjoy the Calder School Christmas Concert. Everyone welcome to attend.

The Calder students are taking swimming lessons again this year in Yorkton.

The Village of Calder and The Calder Rec. Board are planning on a Canada 150 Birthday Bash on July 22, 2017. We are having supper and dance, ball games, children games, a parade and more. So we hope that you mark this day on your calendar. More information will be posted soon.

Everyone is welcome to attend this event. So spread the word and tell your family and friends about this event.

The Calder School held their Remembrance Day Program on Nov. 10, 2016. Thank you to the students, staff, community and Sgt. Austin Horishko from the Royal Canadian Legion in Yorkton.

Report cards went home with the students on Nov. 18, 2016. The teachers would like to thank all the parents who came out to parent/teacher interviews.

Grade 1 to 6 students were privileged to participate in the Western Development Museum Celebration of Christmas Past. The Calder students did crafts, scavenger hunts and wagon rides.
