Spaghetti fundraiser

On May 9, 2015, the Goodeve Community Centre held a Spaghetti Supper. On the menu was spaghetti of course, delicious spaghetti sauce, spectacular Caesar salad, wonderful garlic bread, absolutely delicious angel food cake with strawberry sauce and decadent strawberry and blueberry cheese cakes for dessert. The meal was absolutely fabulous. We had a small crowd for supper but all who attended were fed well as seconds were encouraged. Take out was also available for our busy farmers who were seeding and unable to attend. A Chinese auction was available with over $1000 in prizes. All prizes were donated by local businesses from Balcarres, Ituna, Melville, Yorkton and generous local members. We the committee appreciate all who donated prizes, money and time; it  was a success, as was our pancake breakfast held in March. We all had a lot of fun working together. We look forward to many more successful fundraisers.

Our Community Centre is housed at the former Goodeve School and is a crucial element for our small community. It has value for its history as many locals went to school there. We all enjoy get together’s at the Centre and fun sports nights. Also, the Centre is available for all functions such as the 4-H club, birthdays, wedding and baby showers, get together’s, church luncheons and sadly funeral’s as well. Without fundraisers, we would not be able to keep such a large building functioning. We the committee and local members encourage all old and new people interested in our community to please attend future events. Watch for posters, highway signs and other advertising as we need you all! For further information or to book an event, contact a Committee member. Alice Braun-President, Rose Yanush-Treasurer, Kim Olynyk-Secretary/Adrianne Cherepuchak-Secretary and Petrunia Olson (member who keeps us in line). Look forward to seeing you all there!
