Yorkton entrepreneur Jason Farrell is hoping to cash in on an iconic Canadian comedy duo's catch phrase by launching a line of clothing. In the 1980s, Doug and Bob McKenzie (SCTV's Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas) coined the word "hoser" as a mock derogatory synonym for Canadian. Although the segment was originally filler, the hosers became a stalwart of the half-hour network parody SCTV and still enjoys a cult following in North America as far away as Texas. Last week, Farrell and a panel of judges auditioned potentil models with a photo shoot at Photography by Mitch on Betts Avenue. The chosen models, four women and two men, will be paid to appear on hoser.com.
