The Yorkton Terriers Junior 'A' Hockey Club were in fine singing form last Tuesday as they visited the Sunrise Health Region Care Home.


The Yorkton Terriers Junior 'A' Hockey Club were in fine singing form last Tuesday as they visited the Sunrise Health Region Care Home. The entire Terrier squad as well as general manager Don Chesney and head coach Trent Cassan, were on-hand to sing a number of well-loved, and well-known songs of the season for residents gathered in the facility's chapel.


The Christmas season is a time when people can miss family and friends who have passed. To help keep memories positive the Central Palliative Care Committee hosts Trees of Memory at the Parkland Mall in Yorkton. People may place an angel card on the tree in memory of someone you loved who has died. Here Joleen Cherland, Palliative Care Coorindinator signs one of the angels. Volunteers are available to share memories if desired. Dec. 8 - 21, 2011, 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m.. It is the 15th year for the trees.


Santa Claus was at the Parkland Mall in Yorkton Saturday allowing youngsters a chance to give their Christmas wish-lists, and have a picture taken with the jolly old elf. Here Hannah, Matty and Aiden Allary, and Ty and Cole Standingready visit with Santa. Santa will be back at the mall Dec. 16 from 5-to-8 p.m., and the 17th from 12-to-4. Proceeds from pictures goes to the Springers Gymnastics Club.


Wendy's Restaurant in the city was getting in the spirit of the season last week as Kristin Kondrat put the finishing touches on window paintings depicting Christmas scenes.
