Brooklyn Reine of Canora was looking for a summer project where she could utilize her artistic talent to beautify her home town. When Brandi Zavislak, community development officer, offered her the chance to paint a floral design on the old dairy bar building on Main Street, Reine jumped at the opportunity to volunteer her time. Zavislak provided the mural paint, which was left over from a previous project. Reine started the project on July 14, and has been at it five days a week ever since, weather permitting. When this photo was taken on August 6, she was expecting to complete the project in a few days. “I like to promote the small-town feel of Canora and make it more attractive to newcomers.”
