Man charged in death of three-year-old half-sister, Saskatchewan police say

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — Police in central Saskatchewan say a 21-year-old man is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his three-year-old half-sister.

They say Emily McCallum-Daniels was the victim of a homicide in Prince Albert, Sask., in early April.

Fabian Morin made his first court appearance by video link Wednesday morning and has been remanded in custody until his next court date, which is June 5.

Police say that officers were called to a home at about 8 p.m. on April 8 for a report of someone in cardiac arrest.

They say a girl was found unresponsive and was taken by ambulance staff to Victoria Hospital.

She was later transferred to the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital in Saskatoon, where she died the next day.
