The Legion held the traditional candelight tribute ceremony Sunday night in honour of fallen soldiers. The tradition was begun in the Netherlands, when Dutch children would light a candle to place on each grave of a Canadian soldier. The candle would remain lit in silent tribute.
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn [sic].
At the going down of the sun,
and in the morning.
We will remember them.
