The Yorkton Tribal council is hosting National Indigenous People’s Day on June 21st, and everyone is welcome.
The day commences with a pipe ceremony at 9 am in City Park, followed by the Opening Ceremonies with a grand entry with dancers and dignitaries. There will be Powwow dance demonstrations during the lunch hour, with face painting, a free barbeque, bannock baking contest and more.
Danica Kequatooway, ballet dancer and jingle dancer will perform from 1:00-1:30, and a talent show afterward.
