Donna Brothwell was recognized Wednesday as the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce’s Director of the Year for 2018.
The presentation was made at the Chamber’s annual general meeting at the Gallagher Centre in the city by current president Mike Stackhouse.
“It was a bit of a surprise, although we had a pretty big year,” said Brothwell who was chair of the Chamber’s Events Committee in 2018.
Brothwell noted that while her role did include overseeing both the Celebrate Success awards and the Business Dinner, she did not have to work alone.
“I had a really good bunch to work with, a really good team,” she said.
And, looking back the effort was certainly worthwhile.
“I really do enjoy volunteering in the community,” she said, adding that “as a small business person it’s good to get out and network with other people …
“And, I feel like I’m giving back.”
The meeting was also an opportunity to briefly review the efforts of the organization and its financial statement for 2018.
