Last night at approximately 8:30 pm members from the Wynyard Detachment, EMS, and Wynyard Fire Dept. responded to a collision on Highway 16 at Wynyard between a Wide load semi and a westbound SUV.
The SUV had just turned west onto the highway from 9th street when the collision occurred.
The lone 60-year-old female occupant from Wynyard was fatality injured during the collision and died at the scene.
The accident is currently under investigation with the assistance of an Forensic Collision Reconstructionist. The semi was hauling a large empty tank, therefore there was no spill of hazardous goods.
