Campsites will be obtainable at the Rock Creek and Frenchman Valley campgrounds. After reopening, backcountry camping will be permitted in the East Block and in Zones 1-6 of the West Block.

However, Tipi camping and oTENTiks won’t be offered until further notice. Campers must book online in advance via the Parks Canada Reservation System at https://reservation.pc.gc.ca/. Visitors are obliged to have reservations before camping at Grasslands National Park.

Reservations services for Grasslands National Park are accessible beginning June 23. After reopening, Parks Canada campground staff will be present to assist campers from 9-5 p.m. daily. Vault toilet facilities in both campgrounds will be available with access restricted to one family unit at a time.

Visitors with self-contained toilet facilities in their trailers or RVs are encouraged to use them and avoid public toilets.

Potable water won’t be available onsite this year, so it’s the responsibility of visitors to bring sufficient drinkable water. A fire ban will be in place at Grasslands National Park until notified.

Visitors should check the Parks Canada website regularly for updates and information on existing services and reservation windows.

The website tells visitors what they might expect and how to prepare for visits beforehand.
