The Western Development Museum (WDM) is pleased to announce the members of the Board of Directors recently appointed by the Honorable Vaughn Solomon Schofield, Lieutenant Governor.

The WDM is pleased to welcome two new members to the Board. Nancy Martin, from Regina, has been appointed as Chair. Ms. Martin brings a wealth of experience in arts and culture to the WDM having served most recently as the Director of Strategic Alignment, Policy, Planning and Evaluation with the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport. Sharon Mohagen has been appointed as Director and brings a business background to the WDM as the co-owner of Blue Rentals in North Battleford.

Diana Ireland (Moose Jaw) and Raymond Sadler (Biggar) have been reappointed as Directors. Susan Lamb (Saskatoon), Janice Hobbs (Saskatoon), and Dennis Naphin (Yorkton) are continuing members of the Board.

“I am very pleased to announce the new Chair of the Western Development Museum, Nancy Martin.” Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Ken Cheveldayoff said. “I would like to thank the outgoing board members for their contributions and time to make sure the four locations and five facilities continue to be world-class, showcasing a vibrant collection of our province’s history for students, families and tourists to enjoy.”

The WDM is uniquely positioned to bring Saskatchewan communities together by instilling a shared appreciation of our province’s cultural heritage. As the Province’s history museum, we have a responsibility to serve our communities and seek out ways to have a positive impact for the people of Saskatchewan. The Board of Directors serve as Trustees for the WDM on behalf of the community and are responsible for ensuring the WDM fulfils its mandate and mission.

The Western Development Museum is the keeper of Saskatchewan’s collective heritage. The Museum shares the province’s unique sense of place with people for their understanding and enjoyment; recognizing the legacy of the past is the foundation for a sustainable future.
