Captain Sam Tim said he wanted to smash the Salvation Army’s goal of $70,000 in the 2020 Kettle Campaign. They have accomplished that goal, with a final total of $100,186.70.

The Kettle Campaign is the Salvation Army’s biggest fundraiser, and the money raised will go to the Food Bank’s operation over the next year.

This has been a challenging year to raise money, with additional restrictions and challenges actually raising money. The year also has seen a much greater need than last year. The Christmas hamper program, for example, had double the number of recipients as previous years, with 700 hampers being distributed in the community.

Tim said they are grateful for all the support so far through the challenges families are facing this year. He thanks everyone who has volunteered and everyone who has donated.
