The Yorkton Business Improvement District held it’s 23rd Annual Santa Claus Parade on Nov. 28th 2020.

In partnership with the City of Yorkton and many volunteers and huge community involvement they had over 800 vehicles through the Parade and it was held over an hour to try to accommodate all the spectator vehicles.  The volunteers for the parade and the floats all agreed to stay the extra hour it took to get all the vehicles through when they had already been out 3 hours.   The Stationary parade format was brought to fruition to comply with all the Covid rules to be able to host the Parade safely and with Public Health approval

Salvation Army Red Kettle drive and Food Bank was invited to come and collect for these very worth causes.

Salvation Army Red Kettle donations were 5997.20 and 800 lbs of non-perishable food was also donated.   Yorkton came out to participate and donate to the very worthy causes and completely blew us away with the kindness and community spirit.  The response to the Parade has been overwhelming and the new format was enjoyed by all.

Seniors were able to come out to enjoy the parade in the warmth of their vehicles as well as all families and spectators stayed safe in their own vehicles.   Santa was enjoyed by all and the kids waved and called to him from the vehicle as he waved to them and wished all a Merry Christmas.

To all the Volunteers, Sponsors, Floats and spectators and all of Yorkton, this is your success!

On behalf of the Board of Directors for the YBID thank you all and Happy Holidays!
