Sentenced

A Yorkton provincial court judge has sent a 23-year-old Yorkton man to prison for two years for sexual interference with two girls under the age of 16.

Colin Focht pleaded guilty April 20 to two counts each of sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.

In exchange for hisĀ  guilty pleas, the Crown dropped two charges of sexual assault, one charge of sexual assault causing bodily harm and one charge of forcible confinement.

Focht received one year each on the sexual interference charges to be served consecutively and one year each concurrent on the invitation to sexual touching counts.

In addition, Focht will serve two years probation when he is released and is enrolled in the national sex offender registry for life. The judge also imposed the mandatory 10-year firearms prohibition and issued a DNA order.
