Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS. The selection is based on: Demonstrating Christian Values, School work, School Involvement, Leadership, and Community Involvement.
Emily Kruger is a ray of sunshine. She is always smiling and is a very positive person. She is always willing to help out and is a great leader. Emily is an excellent student, who is very intelligent, and is in AP math and maintaining an average of over 90%, which places her on the honour roll with distinction. In school, you can find her involved in floor hockey, badminton, soccer, basketball, SRC, Saint of the Month committee, yearbook as the editor, and cross country. Her leadership shows on the SRC, as she coaches gymnastics, refs basketball games and being a leader for the grade 9 retreats. In the community, Emily participates in the Charity Road Race, is a member of St. Gerard's parish, St. Gerard's youth group, plays indoor soccer and participates in Legion Track.
Nathan Guy is a very polite and thoughtful young man. He is a steady, dependable person who can always be counted on and is a good big brother. Nathan is very thorough in his work and is in both AP math and English and is one of the top math AP students in the school. He is on the honour roll with distinction maintaining an average over 90%. In school, you can find Nathan curling, playing badminton and is a member of the Saint of the Month committee. He was a retreat leader for the grade 9 retreat as well. Nathan is an active member of St. Gerard's parish where he is a reader, an alter server, and a member of the youth group. He played on a house hockey team and works at Sobey's.
