On July 6 and 7, the Yorkton Wildlife Federation held its Second Annual Kid’s Camp Weekend at Good Spirit Lake
“We we’re ecstatic to have 18 campers register for the weekend,” said SWF representative Laura Uhryn.
“Saturday started off very rainy but the clouds broke, the sun came out and the campers were able to hit the lake for some fishing. We were able to have a fish fry for supper and somehow the 18 campers found room to devour 20 pounds of homemade french fries, in addition to the fish and barbecued chicken.”
The campers were also taught how to tie fishing knots and did some 3D archery.
“The kids were kept busy, made new friends and had tons of fun,” said Uhryn. “We are looking forward to next summer’s camp and have plans to put on a winter camp too.”
