Teen pleads not guilty to dangerous driving causing death

A Yorkton man accused of dangerous driving causing death has pleaded not guilty and chose to be tried at Court of Queen’s Bench by judge and jury.
Hunter Arnold, 19, was the driver of a vehicle that collided head-on with another vehicle on Hwy 10 in September 2016. The crash killed Arnold’s passenger, 17-year-old Jordan Stoll, and the driver of the other car, Tyler Dobko, 29. Arnold was airlifted by STARS air ambulance to Regina with serious injuries and spent several weeks in hospital in Saskatoon.
At the end of March, RCMP charged Arnold with two counts of dangerous driving causing death.
In Yorkton Provincial Court May 1, defence attorney Thomas Campbell made the not guilty plea and election for jury trial and requested a preliminary hearing.
Judge Ross Green set the preliminary for September 20.
