The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce (YCC) has a new logo it can put on its materials.
They’ve been accredited by the Chamber Accreditation Council of Canada (CACA) for their professionalism and community engagement.
“Accreditation acknowledges the great work this chamber has undertaken over the years,” said YCC President Bruce Murdock in a press release.
Formed in 2004, CACA recognizes local chambers that satisfy their performance standards. Accreditation helps chambers stand out in their communities.
“[It] elevates the chamber to the next level,” said YCC Executive Director Juanita Polegi.
YCC began preparing their application in June. They had to provide documents highlighting their organization, policies, and membership programs.
“[It showed us] things we had to tweak,” Polegi said.
YCC sent their application to CACA in August. After several rounds of review, they received accreditation in late November.
“I was pretty happy,” Polegi said. “It’s a validation of what we’re doing.”
CACA provided an official logo to YCC to prove their acceditation. Polegi thinks it’s good feather in the chamber’s cap as they move forward.
“We’re on the right path,” she said.
