Man found dead outside in a rural area in western Saskatchewan

TURTLEFORD, Sask. — A man has been found dead in a rural area in western Saskatchewan.

RCMP say they received a report of a body outside in the Rural Municipality of Frenchman Butte, east of St. Walburg, about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

They have determined the death to be suspicious.

A number of specialized RCMP teams have been deployed to the Turtleford detachment to assist with the investigation.

Police say they are trying to identify the man and determine how he died.

Roadways in the area are blocked off as officers conduct their investigation and an autopsy will take place in the coming days.

St. Walburg is about 260 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
