Mary Lena (Zimmer) Bozsik

Mary Lena (Zimmer) Bozsik was born in the Grayson area on August 15, 1925 to Anton and Theresa Zimmer. She attended school in Freedhome and Dubuc. At 13 years of age Mary went to work on a farm south of Stockholm. In 1941, at the age of 16, Mary and Joe were married. Joe was recruited by the army and stationed in Regina shortly after they were wed. The newlyweds moved to Vancouver and later to Nanaimo. When Joe was transferred to Jamaica, Mary returned to Bangor where she made a home for them. In 1945 Joe returned home and took up farming. Mary worked hard on the farm and raised five children - Dennis, Audrey, Sharon, Raymond and Denise. In 1996 Joe and Mary resided in the town of Bangor. Mary was a long-time member of St. Michael’s Church in Bangor. She was also a member of the Bangor New Horizons Club, Bangor CWL and later St. Gerard’s CWL in Yorkton. Mary moved into Queen Elizabeth Court in 2005 and made many new friends. Her closest neighbours, Drue and Emily, were always there for her, especially during the past few months. Mary enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She made dish cloths and towels which she proudly gave to everyone who stopped in. One of her greatest pastimes was watching Mass on TV every morning. Mary loved to plant her flower pots every spring, making sure that she had Pansies in each one. She enjoyed having company and loved to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She longed to hold and hug the little great-grandkids that live close and so far away. She was glad to be with all of her family one last time this past Christmas. Mary was predeceased by her parents Anton and Theresa Zimmer; husband Joe (2002); son Dennis (1962); son Raymond (2004); brother John Zimmer; sisters Gert (Jim) Hustak, Kay Richards and Martha (Steve) Herperger; brothers-in-law Tony Hustak and Jack Dycer as well as numerous other relatives. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Audrey (Clarence) Parisloff of Rokeby, Sharon (Gord) Spokes of Bangor and Denise (Tim) Duchek of Atwater. She will always be remembered by her eight grandchildren: Melinda (Corey) Davis of Yorkton; Lenora Woychesko (friend Curtis) of Yorkton; Neil (Julie) Parisloff of Yorkton; Shane (Sheila) Duchek of Okotoks, AB; Travis (Vicky) Spokes of White Plains, N.Y.; Scott Duchek of Yorkton; Deanna (Chris) Zemlak of Battleford, SK and Christopher Duchek (friend Selby) of Atwater. Her warm touch will never be forgotten by her great-grandchildren: Bradley (friend Tennille), Megan and Madisson Woychesko; Jaiden and Teighan Davis; Brittany (friend Matthew) and Josh Siedler; Kyra Siedler Parisloff and Zander Parisloff; Benjamin and Piper Duchek; Cooper and Oliver Spokes. She will also be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Mona Bozsik (friend Gordie) of Yorkton; sisters Betty Dycer, Irene (Jerry) Osmak; brother Bill (Eloise) Zimmer; brother-in-law Bob Richards of Bangor. Mary will be fondly remembered by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
