Mrs. Marie Lischynski, beloved mother of Adeline Lazaroff and Daniel Lischynski of Yorkton passed away peacefully at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on March 8, 2016. She was 95 years of age.

Mrs. Marie Lischynski, beloved mother of Adeline Lazaroff and Daniel Lischynski of Yorkton passed away peacefully at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on March 8, 2016. She was 95 years of age. Marie was born to Metro and Anna Shlahetka on December 11, 1920, in the Whitesand District near Good Spirit Lake. She married Peter Lischynski in 1939 and they farmed together in the Gorlitz area until retirement in 1980 when they moved to Yorkton. Marie continued to live in her own home until she passed. Marie had many talents. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and quilting. Marie and Peter spent their leisure time fishing, playing cards like cribbage and getting together with friends and family. Marie was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1990, their son Philip in 2008 and great-granddaughter Sapphyre in 1987. She leaves to mourn and will be sadly missed by her daughter Adeline (Bill) Lazaroff, Daniel (Gloria) Lischynski, grandchildren Debora (Bill) Baker of Saskatoon, Louise (Les) Handford of Regina, Renae (Chris) Lischynski of Calgary, Rhonda (Craig) Johnston of Ottawa, Raeleen (Beau) Stephens of Edmonton and great-grandchildren Sarah, Teresa (Shaina), Ti, Dylan, Vanessa, Connor, Luke and Hudson. The Funeral Service was held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Very Rev. Fr. Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R. of St. Mary's Church officiating. The responses were led by Lorne Stechyshyn & parish choir members. Debora Baker shared reflections of her grandmother's life. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Beau Stephens, Chris Dauncey, Connor Ungar, Les Handford, Craig Johnston and Bill Baker serving as casket bearers.
