MASEREK - Angeline

Angeline Maserek was born on April 17, 1914 in the Otthon District of Saskatchewan. She was the fifth of nine children born to Frank and Anastasia (nee Zukowich) Vidomsky. Angeline attended school in the East Otthon District.

Angeline Maserek was born on April 17, 1914 in the Otthon District of Saskatchewan. She was the fifth of nine children born to Frank and Anastasia (nee Zukowich) Vidomsky. Angeline attended school in the East Otthon District. On July 5, 1935 Angeline was united in marriage to Vincent Maserek and the couple made their home and farmed in the Willowbrook District. They were blessed with three boys but sadly one of the boys died in infancy. When Angeline and Vincent retired from the farm, they moved into the city of Yorkton. In Yorkton, Angeline began a new career working in the hospital where she was employed for many years before retiring for the second time. In her retirement years, Angeline was still kept busy as a faithful member of the Catholic Women's League and spent many hours visiting the sick in the hospital. Angeline was talented with needlework, and especially enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She also loved to garden and canned as much of the garden produce as possible. An excellent cook, Angeline loved to visit with family and friends. Angeline was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Anastasia; her husband, Vincent Maserek; her sons, Lawrence (in infancy) and Louis; her sisters, Theresa Hildret, Helen Karapita, Martha Paziora; her brothers, Martin, Vincent, Philip and Ed. She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life, one son, Ron, and his wife, Helen of Utah, USA; grandchildren, Marly Maserek of Yorkton, SK, Debbie Maserek of Ontario, Tammy (Scott) Kammer of Saskatoon, SK; great-grandchildren, Jared and Faith Kammer; her sister, Vicky Chipeur of Yorkton, SK; sister-in-law, Mary Vidomski as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. The Prayer Service was held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton, SK with Father Francis Hengen officiating. The pianist, Lorraine Lysak, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Come Home", "Psalm 62" and "How Great Thou Art". The reader was Gabriel Hamilton. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton, SK with Father Francis Hengen officiating. The pianist, Pamela Yaremko, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "We Will Rise Again", "Psalm 90", "Jesus, Remember Me", "Isaiah 49", "Song of the Angels" and "Holy God, We Praise Your Name". The readers were Adeline Oystreck and Mary Bybliw. The Cross Bearer was Helena Kuemper and the Gift Bearers were Betty Alberts and Viola Molnar. The interment service followed in the Yorkton Memorial Gardens, Garden of Crucifixion with Ron Maserek, Marly Maserek, Scott Kammer, Dennis Chipeur, Don Paziora and Louis Vidomski serving as the casket bearers.
