Mrs. Hilda Schwartz of Yorkton, SK, beloved wife of Edward Schwartz passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, February 6, 2013 at the age of 80 years. Hilda Freda Schwartz was born June 17, 1932.

Mrs. Hilda Schwartz of Yorkton, SK, beloved wife of Edward Schwartz passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, February 6, 2013 at the age of 80 years. Hilda Freda Schwartz was born June 17, 1932. She received her education at Clyde & Rhein schools. On June 27, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stornoway, Hilda was united in marriage to Edward Schwartz. They farmed in the Stornoway area for many years and moved to Yorkton in 1975 and at that time became members of St. Paul Lutheran Church, she also became employed at Harry's Dutch Bakery until her retirement. Hilda enjoyed doing many crafts, some were knitting baby toques for the hospital and her favorite was quilting at the church with The Quilters Guild. Hilda leaves to mourn her husband Edward, daughter Nedene Atkinson, her children Matthew (Jennifer) and Jennifer, son Conrad Schwartz (Georgia), their children Derrick (Kristen), Scott (Chelsea), sister Florence Schwartz; sisters-in-law Freda McCann, Hilda Schwartz, Martha Liebrecht, Elsie Liebrecht, Joan Schnell and Patricia Schnell. Hilda was predeceased by her parents, Conrad and Katherine, numerous brothers and sisters and son-in-law Richard Atkinson. The Funeral Service was held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorkton with Pastor Fred Schneider officiating. The organist, Carla Laycock led in the singing of the hymns, "Jesus Still Lead On", "Day by Day", "Children of The Heavenly Father" and "O That Will Be Glory". The interment followed in the Garden of St. John at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Matthew Atkinson, Jennifer Atkinson, Derrick Schwartz, Scott Schwartz, Trent Guenther and Lavina Carter serving as the casket bearers. Memorials in Hilda's name may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church memorial fund.
