It is with great sadness and loving reflection that we announce the passing of our precious mother, Marjorie Martha Streelasky on May 5, 2012. Marjorie was born on May 6, 1925 to Elizabeth and Robert Sharp in Springside, SK. She attended Stoney Coulee School and then continued business education classes where she was later employed by Macdonalds Consolidated Ltd. and Saskatchewan Crop Insurance. Marjorie married John Streelasky on November 6, 1956 and then farmed in the Yorkton area. Marjorie and John were blessed with two daughters, Carol and Diane. Marjorie leaves her family to cherish her memory: Her daughter, Carol Mayes and her children Rayna and Landon; her daughter Diane (Wade) Miller and their children Jordan, Brayden, Carson and Ashten. In addition she leaves her sisters- in-law Isabel Turchuk and Trudy Sharp (Ken Fribbons) and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John, her son-in-law Lawrence Mayes, parents, Elizabeth and Robert Sharp, brothers - Gordon, Alfie, Barry; sisters - Olive (Maurice), Irene (Earl) and Bernice (Bob). Mom loved the outdoors and her garden and flowers. We enjoyed many barbecues in the backyard where we celebrated many happy family occasions. She loved to create crafts of many kinds especially crocheting and knitting and also baking of all types. Mom was also a member of the Pythian Sisters and a life-time member of the Orkney UCW, as well as being a 4-H leader during her younger years. We cherish all the family celebrations and love that was part of our family times. Mom, your love and joy that you brought to us will be a part of our hearts forever. Mom's wish was for a private family service. She wanted everyone to know that she sends her love to you all.
In tears we saw you sinking,
And watched you pass away.
Our hearts were almost broken,
We wanted you to stay.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
If roses grow in Heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for us,
Place them in our Mother's arms
And tell her they are from us.
Tell her that we love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
We will do it every day,
but there's an ache within our hearts
that will never go away.
Don't think of her as gone away
Her journey's just begun
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.
Think how she must be wishing
That we could know, today
Now nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away
And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost
And she is loved so very much.
