Girl Guides saying thanks

Dear Editor: Members of Girl Guides Extra Ops unit would like to thank the people of Yorkton and our local businesses for their support in our fundraising efforts in the past.

Dear Editor:

Members of Girl Guides Extra Ops unit would like to thank the people of Yorkton and our local businesses for their support in our fundraising efforts in the past. We enjoyed our trip to Puerto Rico so much that we are providing another opportunity for Girl Guides to do international travel in the summer of 2017.

Travel fosters curiosity, builds problem solving skills, challenges girls to be flexible and adaptive and generate openness to new experiences. It helps girls to develop a greater appreciation and acceptance of different people and cultural practices.

On our trip we watched each and every girl become more independent, confident and self-assured. They developed skills they will carry forward and each had an experience that will continue to shape their lives.

We will be out in the community fundraising once again and thank you for any opportunities we can be a part of. We have a popcorn machine and a cotton candy machine and would love to work at your event. The sale of Girl Guide cookies is a major fundraiser for our travel group so please help support the girls when they come to your home or workplace. Chocolate/Vanilla sandwich cookies are available in the spring and our mint cookies are available in October. We continue to have an ongoing pop bottle drive as well.

If you would like to order cookies as a business or as an individual, talk to us about working at your event, drop off pop bottles or make a donation please call Jacquie at 306-783-5391 or Carrie at 306-782-0706.

Our organizations ability to continue to provide our girls with these experiences could not happen without you. Your generosity and support is the best example of community that we can teach these young women.

Thank you for being there for us again.
