Dear Editor:

On the morning of Jan. 14/2013 my son had his car plugged in because of the very cold temperatures. When the city sidewalk snow clearing machine went through, the cord got driven over and disappeared, my sons mirror was broken off. The city should let property owners know when the sidewalk cleaning machine is going through, or possibly not do this on such a frigid morning, or at least wait until the school has started cause most of these vehicles belong to students.

We called the City and let them know what occurred and were told "Sorry and that they could not help with the repair." I was just a little surprised at how this turned out. We live in a province where the cold winter temperatures warrant your vehicle to be plugged in.

I just wanted the public to know that if they're in the same situation such as this to seriously think about their options so this doesn't happen to them.
