The Humboldt/Lanigan RCMP and Crime Stoppers are investigating the theft of a donation box from a business in the 700 block of Main street in Humboldt.

On Sunday, Dec. 8, at approximately 6:30pm, security camera video shows a female tucking the donation box under her shirt prior to leaving the store. She is approximately 5’7”, 160-190lb, black shoulder length hair tied in a ponytail, thin eyebrows, and was wearing a red Toronto Raptors hooded sweatshirt at the time. She was accompanied by a youth wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and camo T-shirt. Police do not believe the youth had direct involvement in the theft. The suspect and youth left the store in a black Dodge Journey SUV. Photos of the suspect and SUV are attached.

The donation box was nearly full when it was taken. Employees say that they usually receive between $60-100 per month when the donation box is emptied. 100% of the proceeds from the donation box go to various local charities. This donation box was in support of WE Day in Canada, an initiative of WE Charity that educates and empowers youth to make a difference in their local and global communities.
