Moosomin Economic Development Officer Greg Gillespie says he wants to hear from local businesses that have any ideas they would like to discuss.
Gillespie was hired earlier this year by Moosomin’s economic development committee, which includes representatives of the town of Moosomin, the RM of Moosomin, and the Moosomin Chamber of Commerce.
He has been working on a number of economic development files, but says he wants to hear from any local businesses that want to reach out.
“One of the key activities of the Economic Development Officer is to identify businesses that might be a good fit in our community, and then convince that business that Moosomin is the right place to be,” he says.
“An equally important goal is to work with local businesses, or individuals, to promote growth from within. For anyone with a business idea—either to grow an existing business, or to launch a new one—that would like someone to bounce your ideas off, assist in conducting research, or write a business or marketing plan, come in to the Town Office and meet the Economic Development Officer. It doesn’t matter how small (or large) the potential business is, we’re interested in your ideas and here to help.
“The economic development office is also a practical place to broker opportunities for businesses and business people. I would like to hear from anyone considering retirement or who has a business to sell. I would like to hear from anyone looking for an investor, partner or perhaps an employee. I would like to hear from anyone looking for job or business opportunities. People can just let us know, and we’ll try and help them connect!”
