Norquay Recreation Board holds annual general meeting

Two scholarships from the health auxiliary in the amounts of  $200 were presented to two students, Keely Foster and Kerri Kowch, said Delphine Howard.

Safety issues at the Communiplex had been addressed when a sidewalk block sticking up outside the “door of the doghouse” was fixed and a section of protruding rebar was removed, said Ruth Demetrick on behalf od the CMB (Communiplex management board). The bleachers were to have had carpentry work done over the summer and be painted in the fall. Tim Shankowsky was to finish the north lobby wall and hang advertising there.

At the NICE (Norquay Involved Community Effort) Centre, an annual meeting had been held and the executive had remained the same but membership was down. The NICE scholarship had been presented to Keely Foster.

It was said that grants would be decided at the November meeting.
