Prince Albert RCMP – Suspicious death in Sturgeon Lake

On July 14, 2019, at approximately 10:00 Prince Albert RCMP and EMS responded to a call for assistance of an unresponsive male at a residence on Sturgeon Lake First Nation. EMS declared the male deceased upon arrival.

EMS declared the male deceased upon arrival. Preliminary investigation has determined the cause of death to be suspicious.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit South are conducting the investigation with the assistance of Prince Albert and Tisdale Forensic Identification Section and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

Residents of the Sturgeon Lake First Nation will notice an increased police presence in the area. At this point in the investigation, it is believed that there is no threat to public safety.

An autopsy is scheduled for July 18 in Saskatoon. The family of the deceased male has been informed.

The investigation is ongoing.
