The Saskatchewan Rattlers, member club of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), are excited to announce the signing of Saskatchewan forward Kai Williams to their roster.

Williams, a Regina, SK-native has been playing professional basketball overseas since 2011. He has spent time playing in the British Basketball League (BBL), the Cypriot Basketball Division A (the top-tier men’s professional basketball league in Cyprus), and the Basketligan (Sweden’s premier professional basketball league). Over the past nine years, Williams has averaged 9.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 26.6 minutes. The 6-foot-6 small forward will bring his size and length to the court.

Prior to turning pro, Williams attended Campbell Collegiate in Regina before heading to South Dakota State University to play Division 1 NCAA basketball. Over the course of three years with the Jackrabbits, Williams averaged 11.5 points, 7.04 rebounds and 31.7 minutes.

“It’s exciting to have Kai coming in not only because of his skill on the court but also having a local player that our fans can connect with”, said Rattlers GM Barry Rawlyk. “Kai has travelled the world as a professional basketball player and we’re excited to get him back home to play professionally. He is an extremely consistent shooter and a great teammate to everyone he has played with.”

The Rattlers enter the 2020 season as the defending CEBL Champions. They will open the season away from home on May 8 when they take on the Fraser Valley Bandits. The Rattlers home opener will take place on May 14 against the Bandits, when they will celebrate the 2019 season by unveiling the first-ever CEBL Championship banner. Season tickets and flex packs are available on therattlers.ca, with group and single-game tickets expected to be released in the coming months.
