Warman RCMP – Charges laid for fatal MVC Hwy 305 and 11 last December

On Friday, December 21, 2018, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Warman RCMP attended the scene of a head-on two-vehicle collision on Highway 305 and Highway 11 near Warman, SK.

On Friday, December 21, 2018, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Warman RCMP attended the scene of a head-on two-vehicle collision on Highway 305 and Highway 11 near Warman, SK. A white half-ton truck was travelling along Highway 305, when it was struck by a blue half-ton truck.

There were three occupants in the white truck. Two of them were transported to a hospital with undetermined injuries. The third passenger of that truck, an 11-year-old girl, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The adult male driver and lone occupant of the blue truck wasalso transported to a hospital with undetermined injuries.

Warman RCMP have laid nine charges against 32-year-old (1986-09-19) Anthony McClelland under the Criminal Code, which include:

  • Operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, Section 320.14(1)(a);
  • Driving with a blood alcohol concentration that exceeds 80 MG; Section 320.14(1)(b);
  • Impaired operation causing bodily harm, Section 320. 14(2); and
  • Impaired driving causing death, Section 320.14(3). 

Anthony McClelland made his first court appearance on Wednesday, July 10, 2019,  in the Saskatoon Provincial Court and is scheduled to reappear in court on August 7, 2019.
