Cardinals win first round, Melville takes its revenge

Sunday’s Cardinals game was rained out, but Monday the Cards were ready and raring to go against the Melville Millionaires at Pirie Field. There was reason to be optimistic, to be sure.

The start was promising, as the Cards finished off the Mils with a solid 9-5 lead at the end of the game.

That streak was not to continue on home turf, however.

The Millionaires, not to be denied, exacted their revenge without mercy on the Cardinals, utterly decimating Yorkton with a brutal 20-1 win.

Yorkton takes on Weyburn tonight at 7:05 in Tom Laing park.
