The Yorkton Cardinals were once again handed a loss at home Wednesday.

The Weyburn Beavers were the visitors at Jubilee Park and scored three in the first and three more in the second to lead the Western Canadian Baseball League contest 6-0 early.

Yorkton put one on the board in the third, then added three in the fifth to get back into the game 6-4.

But that would be it for the Cardinal offence.

The Beavers however scored four in the seventh, then added a pair in the eighth to round out a 12-4 win.

The Beavers had a 12 hit night, and were aided by seven Yorkton errors, and 10 walks.

Shaun Logan was the winning pitcher for Weyburn. He started, tossing five and allowing only four hits, and four runs, three of those earned.

Hut Smith took the loss for Yorkton. He started and went three innings allowing eight hits, and six runs, all of them earned.

Noah Barron went deep for the Cardinals and had three runs batted-in.

Dominic Bravo had a homer for the visitors and four RBIs.

The loss drops Yorkton’s record to 1-13, last in the WCBL East, which is led by Weyburn at 10-2.
