Cardinals shut-out by 57s

The Yorkton Cardinals offence just couldn’t get going tonight (Tuesday). The Cardinals were held to one hit, and no runs at Jubilee Park, while the visiting Swift Current 57s posted nine hits and 10-runs.

The Cardinals were held to one hit, and no runs at Jubilee Park, while the visiting Swift Current 57s posted nine hits and 10-runs.

The 57s scored one in the first inning, then added three-spots in the third, seventh and ninth innings in the Western Canadian Baseball League encounter.

Logan Garza started the game for the 57s earned the winning pitching six innings, allowing only one hit, while walking one and striking out 10.

Mitchell Waletzki earned a three-inning save, striking out six, and walking a pair and allowing no hits.

Andrew Magness took the loss for the Cardinals going six innings as the starter, allowing seven hits, and four runs, all of those earned, while striking out five.

Ryan Magdic led the 57s offence, with five runs-batted-in.
