Celebrating the return of curling to Yorkton

The Gallagher Centre and Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling are inviting fans of all ages to attend Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling Community Fest this Saturday, Nov. 16, from Noon to 3 p.m. at Gallagher Centre’s Nexera Flexi Hall.

The event celebrates the return of the Meridian Canadian Open, taking place January 14-19, 2020, featuring the top 16 men’s and 16 women’s curling teams in the world. Fans attending the Community Fest can learn more about the 2020 Meridian Canadian Open while enjoying food, music and activities for the whole family.

The Community Fest will feature appearances by Olympic gold medalist and World Curling Hall of Fame inductee Kevin Martin, as well as 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion Chelsea Carey.

There will also be a live concert by children’s musician and entertainer Silly Robbie.

The event is being held Saturday from 12:00pm- 3:00pm at the Gallagher Centre’s Nexera Flexi Hall

It will be a free community event to celebrate the return of major curling to Yorkton. The event will feature:

* Open mic with Kevin Martin and Chelsea Carey

* Live music by Silly Robbie

* Free hot dog lunch

* Face painting, bouncy castles, and more fun for kids

* Tickets sales and contests for the 2020 Meridian Canadian Open
