CWE storms into Yorkton with late December show

While Canadians are stuffing torn wrapping paper in the trash and returning unwanted gifts to stores on Boxing Day, a select group of professional wrestlers will be piling into their cars and lacing their boots for a cross-country showcase.
They’re part of  the  Pick Your Poison tour hosted by Canadian Wrestling’s Elite (CWE), which runs from Dec. 26 to Jan. 15. It promises to be one of the most spectacular shows in the company’s history.
The tour will begin in Stonewall, Manitoba. Their thrid stop will be in Yorkton at the Yorkdale Central School on Dec. 28.
“It’ll be our biggest show in Yorkton,” said Danny Warren, general manager for CWE.
CWE usually tours through the Prairies and makes regular visits to Yorkton. Their last show here was in August.
“Yorkton is a foundational stop,” Warren said. “It’s supportive of us.
“Yorkton is a pillar.”
The Pick Your Poison tour is headlined by famed 1980s wrestler Jake “The Snake” Roberts. He is most famous for working in the World Wrestling Federation, fighting big names such as Andre the Giant, the Honky Tonk Man, and “Ravishing” Rick Rude.
Warren reached out to Roberts and their schedules aligned for the tour. Warren has actually wrestled Roberts on a few occasions.
“It’s a lot of fun,” he said.
The show will feature a variety of talent, including “The Canadian Crusher” AJ Sanchez and Bull Bodnar.
“It’ll be great to see the fans,” Warren said. “It’ll be a fun tour.”
A VIP meet and greet will happen at 6 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
VIP tickets cost $22 in advance and $25 at the door. General admission is $17 in advance and $20 at the door.
Tickets are available at  Dig n Dre’s, Pumphouse Athletic Club, and online at cwetickets.com.
