The Dreambuilders Learning Centre recently hosted its first Dreambuilders Classic Golf Tournament at York Lake Golf and Country Club.

The purpose of the event was to raise funds to take students to the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation Career Fair in Yellowknife, event coordinator Charles Bellgarde explains.

Bellgarde reports 16 teams of four, 64 golfers turned out for the event. The weather was ideal for golf and all participants had a good time, he says.

The fundraising goal of the tournament wasn't reached, Bellegard notes as the number of entries fell short of projected expectations. As a result Dreambuilders will need to conduct several more fundraisers to raise the needed funds.

Dreambuilders appreciates the support of the many sponsors who supported the tournament and donated prizes for the event, Bellegarde closes.
