Dr. Trevor Hove, a chiropractor in Yorkton, competed at Crossfit Regina (www.crossfitregina.com) on the May long weekend in the spring Saskatchewan Crossfit Challenge, placing third in Division I. The Challenge is designed to discover the fittest athletes in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

The Challenge had 57 competitors from gyms across Manitoba and Saskatchewan competing in three male and female Divisions. Taryn Romanowich, Hove's training partner, placed fourth in women's Division I.

Hove was tied for second place after the three workouts and participated in a fourth tie-breaking workout to finish third. The average age of the athletes competing was 26 years old. Hove is 41.

"As a clinician and an athlete, I find the Crossfit method is an excellent approach to fitness. It's been empirically tested. It's about training your body to work as a complete integrated unit, a symphony rather than a bunch of solo instruments."

Hove and Romanowich train at Heiser's Fitness located in Yorkton, SK.
