Motorcycle racers from Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba tore up the Milestone raceway last Sunday as they competed for trophies and glory.

Over 250 entries raced at the final round of the Saskatchewan Motorsport Association’s (SMA) provincial championship on September 17.

“[The amount of entries was the] second best we’ve had this year,” said Daryl Murphy, a board member with SMA.

The drivers competed in twenty-one different classes over thirty races. Points were tallied based on where competitors placed at the end of races. Races were open to all ages and averaged 12 minutes in length.

Austin Walkington from Yorkton came in 20th place in the MX2 Junior class.

According to Rick Bradshaw, treasurer foor the Yorkton Motorcycle Club, attendance for the event was 600 people, including riders.

The Yorkton race was the last one for the year. Daryl Murphy says SMA will start planning for next year’s races in February.
