On Monday, Nov. 28, Sacred Heart High School held its fall sports banquet. This event takes place every year to honour and recognize deserving athletes from football, golf, volleyball, cross-country and soccer. All award winners are listed below.

More than 250 people gathered at the St. Mary’s Cultural Centre on Monday, Nov. 28 to recognize the student athletes who participated in fall sports.

On Monday, Nov. 28, Sacred Heart High School held its fall sports banquet. This event takes place every year to honour and recognize deserving athletes from football, golf, volleyball, cross-country and soccer. All award winners are listed below.

For junior football, the lineman of the year was Logan Rohatensky. The rookie of the year was Jack Long. The most improved player was Jesse Kobylko. The Saint Sebastian award (sportsmanship) went to Connor Anderson. And the most valuable player award went to both Braeden Blair and Braydon Wasylyniuk.

For senior football, the lineman of the year was Bode Fisher. The rookie of the year was Colby Melnyk. The most improved player was Matthew Stackhouse. The Saint Sebastian award winner was Zach Goulden-Maddin. The most valuable defensive player was Nathan Pidperyhora. And the most valuable offensive player of the year was Nathan Cochrane.

In golf, two recipients took home the top golfer award. They were Stephen Oleskiw and Austin Thomas.

For senior girls’ volleyball, the most improved player was Hannah Wyatt. The rookie of the year was Emma Pindus. The Saint Sebastian award went to J.J. Chogata. And the most valuable player was awarded to both Lexi Guy and Janeen Pellatt.

For junior girls’ volleyball, the most improved player was Camryn Danchilla. The Saint Sebastian award was given to Julia Glodoveza. And the most valuable player was given to both Teighan Davis and Savannah Guy.

For senior boys’ volleyball, the most improved player was Ethan Allan. The rookie of the year was awarded to Jett Stechyshyn. The Saint Sebastian award was given to both Kaeden Hanishewsky and Zach Goulden-Maddin. And the most valuable player was given to Grady Hawkins.

For junior boys’ volleyball, the most improved player was Rylan Bahrey. The Saint Sebastian award winner was Jairus Pellatt. And the most valuable player was Andriy Usan.

In cross-country, the most improved player was Sarah Walker. The rookie of the year went to Logan Rohatensky. The Saint Sebastian award winner was Kaitlyn Klemetski. And the most valuable player was Jaxon McLeod.

In girls’ soccer, the most improved player was Ashley Schrader. The rookie of the year was Raya Cuthill. The Saint Sebastian award winner was Madison Butchko. And the most valuable player was Allison Berge.

And in boys’ soccer, the team who captured a provincial title, the most improved player was Kyle Schmidt. The rookie of the year was Jairus Pellatt. The Saint Sebastian award went to both Austin Thomas and Nathan Cochrane. The most valuable defensive player award went to both Stephen Oleskiw and Dawson Malinowski. And the most valuable defensive player was awarded to Nick Fetsch.
