Seniors' cribbage event hosted in city

Parkland Valley District of the SSFA (Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association) held a Cribbage tournament on Tuesday, February 11 at Yorkton Crossing Retirement Community. Ten teams participated and competition was intense.

Parkland Valley District of the SSFA (Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association) held a Cribbage tournament on Tuesday, February 11 at Yorkton Crossing Retirement Community. Ten teams participated and competition was intense. The Gold medals were won by Madeline Mandzuk and Hilda Zorn, Silver medalists were Dolena Plews and Peggy Graham, and Bronze medalists were Beverly Kostichuk and Dianne Stinka, all of Yorkton.

Several other events will take place in the Parkland Valley District in the next few weeks, prior to the Provincial 55+ Games that are to be held in Prince Albert, June 16-18, 2020: Sturgis is hosting Cribbage on Saturday, February 29, and Whist on Friday, March 27; Yorkton Crossing is hosting Duplicate Bridge on Friday, March 13, and Whist on Tuesday, March 24; Kaiser will be held in Buchanan on Monday, March 23; Bowling will take place at the Yorkton Bowl Arena on Tuesday, March 31; and Pickleball will take place at the Gloria Hayden Community Centre on Thursday, April 23. All events are open to SSFA members, and the $10 annual membership may be purchased at the events, or by contacting David Weiman 306-348-2266 or Dianne Stinka 306-782-0696. The Parkland Valley District AGM will be held on Wednesday, April 1 at 1:00 pm at the Yorkton Library. Anyone over the age of 50 who is interested in becoming involved in our organization, as well as all current members, are invited to attend.
