On April 22, the Sacred Heart Saints dominated the city's senior badminton playoffs at the Yorkton Regional High School, taking seven of the 10-playoff spots. In girls' singles: Morgan Shymanski placed second.


On April 22, the Sacred Heart Saints dominated the city's senior badminton playoffs at the Yorkton Regional High School, taking seven of the 10-playoff spots.

In girls' singles: Morgan Shymanski placed second. In boys' singles: Justin Poirier played some of the best games of his badminton career, but did not advance to the playoff; Colin Shewchuk also had some close matches, placing second. In boys' doubles: Caleb Sutter and Jake Perepeluk placed second. In girls' doubles: Katlin Inglis and Allison Kruger placed first; Brooke-Lyn Somogi and Christina Mentanko placed second. In mixed doubles: Justin Guy and Riana Skikewich placed first; Colton Kitzan and Chloe Mryozowich placed second.

On April 23, Sacred Heart captured four silver medals in a Canora-based competition.

Justin Poirier finished first in the round robin for boys' singles.

Second in the round robin for girls' doubles were Kaitlin Inglis and Chelsey Yesnik.

Finishing third in the round robins were Morgan Shymanski in girls' singles and Riana Skikewich and Colton Kitzan in mixed doubles.

The district playoffs went down on April 29.

The competition throughout the day was tightly matched to say the least.

In mixed doubles: Riana Skikewich and Justin Guy finished first; Chole Mrozowich and Colton Kitzan placed fourth. In boys' doubles: Jake Perepeluk and Caleb Sutter ended the day in fourth spot. In girls' doubles: Katlin Inglis and Riana Skikewich finished first; Brooke-Lyn Somogyi and Christina Mentanko grabbed third place. In girls' singles: Morgan Shymanksi finished third. In boys' singles: Colin Shewchuk advanced to the semi-finals after finishing in second. Colin, Kaitlin and Allison went on to lose out in the semi-finals in very close matches to play in the bronze medal matches. These players had tough, close matches going to three games. They ended up in fourth place. Riana and Justin won in the semi-finals and moved on to the gold medal match. They, however, fell short, capturing silver medals.
